| Scunthorpe Scorpion’s Tai Woffinden claimed an impressive fourth in the Ron Johnson Memorial Meeting at Western Australia’s Pinjar Park on Saturday night. The quality field included Steve Johnston (Oxford), Chris Holder (Isle of Wight), Jason Doyle (Poole), Tom Hedley (Newport) and Trevor Harding (King’s Lynn) who all competed in last month’s Australian Championships along with former British League riders Frank Smart, Mitch Shirra and David Cheshire. |  |

25.03.07: Scorpions start with impressive win |

| The Lincs FM Scorpions, sponsored by Henderson Insurance, opened their 2007 campaign with an impressive 55-41 win over the Boston Barracudas in the Lincolnshire Cup at the Scunthorpe Raceway on Sunday afternoon. Much had been made of the squad system in operation by the Scorpions but without Tai Woffinden and Andrew Tully, who were competing for their Premier League sides, the rest of the squad showed that they are very capable of covering for their absence. |

| The Lincs FM Scorpions ex-skipper, Wayne Carter, was given a rousing send off by the speedway world at Scunthorpe this afternoon. Riders and fans travelled from all over the country to pay their respects to one of sports most popular riders and in the main event Stoke Potter’s Garry Stead took the honours after a run-off against Boston Barracuda’s Simon Lambert. | |

| The Lincs FM Scunthorpe Scorpions won their first trophy of the 2007 season tonight after defeating the Boston Barracudas 54-41 in the second leg of the Lincolnshire Cup. After winning the home leg 55-41 it means the Scorpions retain the trophy for a third consecutive season. | |

| The Lincs FM Scunthorpe Scorpions defeated the USA Dream Team 62-31 at the Scunthorpe Raceway yesterday with Andrew Tully leading the scoring with 14 points. There were solid contributions throughout the side with Byron Bekker dropping just one point to an opponent whilst the reserve pairing of Scott Richardson and Joe Haines dropped just two each. | |
