Stuart rode for Bradford in the British League (now Elite) and Long Eaton in the National League (now Premier) between 1989 and 1992 before deciding to retire after injury.  After a long absence Stuart impressed in the club’s amateur meetings in 2008 and soon found himself riding for the Saints in the Conference League.

He rode in half the club’s meetings and achieved an average just below seven despite riding in twice as many away meetings as home ones.  Stuart also has many years as Jason Lyon’s mechanic and, with twenty years in the sport, his experience, combined with his personality, makes him a perfect appointment as the Saints coach.
