Simon Lambert
Date of Birth : 21 February 1989
Place of Birth : Boston, Lincolnshire
Simon first impressed on a speedway bike when he finished third behind Josh Auty and Shane Waldron in the 2004 British Under-15 Championship.  As soon as he turned fifteen he started to ride for the Boston Barracudas, a club his father Stephen helped run, and stayed with the side until their demise at the end of 2008.  Simon debuted for parent club King’s Lynn in 2005 and actually averaged 4.91 from six meetings in 2006.  2007 saw him in and out of the Stars side but he impressed towards the end of the season and was rewarded with a permanent place for 2008.  Like so many others Simon soon had engines that could work well around the grippy Norfolk Arena and his end of season 6.61 average was boosted by a near nine-point figure at home.

As usual King’s Lynn had to trim their side at the end of the season and Simon was one of those to miss out for 2009.  Snapped up on loan by the Scorpions he was forced to spend much of the season in the main body of the side yet still scored 333 points in 52 meetings at an average of 5.79.  Simon also rode in ten meetings for the Saints in the National League averaging 10.59.  With Simon set to start the 2010 season in the Scorpions’ number seven berth the ambitious youngster will not only be looking to increase his average but also be looking to impress Elite League clubs with a view to gaining extra rides in that league.
