Magnus had a successful start to his UK career. He rode twelve meeting with the Edinburgh Monarchs at the end of 2002 and then returned the following season to average 7.58 as part of the Monarchs side that won the club’s first championship since they were formed in 1948. However, he had to move on the following year and he joined the Hull Vikings.  That season he topped the club averages at 8.50 as the Vikings won the League Championship, KO Cup and Young Shield.

In 2005 Magnus decided to join his elder brother, Mikael, at Elite League Wolverhampton and he impressed with a 5.58 average in his debut season, including a paid maximum. Sadly his average dipped in 2006 and 2007 but he did get to represent Sweden in the Speedway World Cup.

Magnus decided to drop down to the Premier League in 2008 and with his base in Hull he opted to join the Scorpions.  Despite having to be the top rider in the side he finished the season with an average of 8.08 before upping that figure to 8.67 in 2009.  His 2009 figure rose to 9.07 for league meetings alone and away from the Eddie Wright Raceway his 8.91 figure was the third best in the league.

Whilst Magnus’ nine-point plus average at home is also impressive there is no doubt that the club captain, along with mechanic Paul Harvey and engine tuner Glyn Taylor, is working hard to become more consistent around the EWR.  If his final two home meetings of 2009 are anything to go by then he is definitely getting there with a maximum against Rye House before he won the Kenny Smith Memorial Trophy.
