Jerran Hart
Date of Birth : 19 January 1991
Place of Birth : Ipswich, Suffolk
Jerran first rode a speedway bike at the end of 2006 and early in 2007 became a ‘grade one’ rider in the Conference League. After a few ‘guest’ meetings he signed for Sittingbourne and at the end of the season he scored forty-eight points in his last four home meetings. During the winter he impressed Newport promoter Tim Stone enough to be hand a team berth but after just nine official meetings Stone’s tragic death forced the closure of the club. After a month he was snapped up by Newcastle where he averaged 3.59 from eighteen official meetings.

Jerran’s final outing for the Diamonds saw him pointless from four rides against the Scorpions on Tyneside but a fortnight later he was excelling around the Eddie Wright Raceway as he claimed third place in the British Under-18 Final. The meeting was a real catalyst in Jerran signing for the Scorpions, on loan from Elite League Lakeside, for 2009.

He started his Scorpions’ career with a maximum on his debut and performed well until a mid-season dip in form. However, he was able to turn his season around and finished the year in outstanding form, being paid for 139 points from his last 17 meetings at an average of 6.32. Jerran also starred for the Bournemouth Buccaneers in the National League but the Ipswich-based rider has switched to the more local Mildenhall Fen Tigers for that league in 2010. Jerran will undoubtedly be kept busy next season as, in addition to his Scorpions and Fen Tigers commitments he has been named as Lakeside’s number eight rider for the Elite League.
