04.08.08: Irving to face Islanders |
| After another impressive performance in the Conference League Gary Irving has been handed his chance to ride for the Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions this Friday, 8th August (start time 7.30pm), when they take on the Isle of Wight Islanders at the Eddie Wright Raceway. He will fill Byron Bekker’s place in what the South African hopes is the last meeting he will miss after breaking his collarbone at Weymouth last month. |

25.07.08: Godfrey thanks council and fans |
| Scunthorpe Speedway Promoter Rob Godfrey is delighted to announce that North Lincs Council have made a decision yesterday afternoon to close the travellers’ site that neighbours the track. The decision is in response to a catalogue of theft and damage that has gone on in the area over recent weeks and whilst there will undoubtedly be some more tough times to endure the decision is a giant step forward. |

24.07.08: Scunthorpe Telegraph sponsor free meeting |
| The Scunthorpe Telegraph have emphasised their support for Scunthorpe Speedway by agreeing to sponsor the free meeting on Friday 1st August. The meeting, a Conference League match between the Scunthorpe Saints and Sittingbourne Crusaders, is seen as an excellent introduction for people who haven’t attended a meeting at the Eddie Wright Raceway, a racetrack which is fast developing a reputation for providing the best speedway racing in the country. |

24.07.08: Late call up to Premier League Fours |
| The Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions have received a late call up to appear in Saturday night’s Premier League Fours event at Workington, replacing Berwick who have had to pull out of the event because of injuries to their riders. The Scorpions, who will face Reading, Newcastle and King’s Lynn in one of the semi-finals, will track Captain Richard Hall, Lincolnshire racer Carl Wilkinson (pictured) and Swedish duo Magnus Karlsson and Viktor Bergström in their side and Promoter Rob Godfrey believes his side could spring a surprise. |

23.07.08: Tough trip to the Stars? |
| Tonight the Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions face one of their toughest fixtures of the season when they travel down to King’s Lynn Stars. On their grippy track the Stars have a tendency to defeat their opponents convincingly but Scorpions Promoter Rob Godfrey is going to the fixture with an open mind “I know good sides like Somerset, Workington and Birmingham haven’t done well but we are determined to give it everything and see what happens. We take great pride in our performances and you never know what might happen in speedway”. |
