09.01.08: Vasey heads Conference League Saints |
| Whilst the Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions are moving up to the Premier League this year the club have declared they will also run a Conference League side in 2008. The team will be called the Saints and primarily will be used to develop riders for the senior team. The club can also confirm that a Conference League legend, Malcolm Vasey, has been appointed as Team Manager for the new side. |

21.01.08: Saints capture Martin |
| The newly-formed Scunthorpe Saints Conference League side have captured the signing of 18-year-old Australian Sam Martin. Martin, who will soon return for his fifth season of racing in Britain, has previously ridden for Oxford and Boston in the Conference League, along with a spell at Berwick in the Premier League last season. He rode for Saints’ Team Manager Malcolm Vasey at Boston in 2006 and the pair will once again link up. |

| The Scunthorpe Saints’ Team Manager Malcolm Vasey has named his starting seven riders for the 2008 season. The capture of Australian Sam Martin was announced last week and four of last season’s Scorpions’ side will join him in the side. Benji Compton, Byron Bekker, Scott Richardson and Scott Anderson are the returning quartet with Compton and Bekker also set to ride for the Scorpions in the Premier League. |

14.02.08: Benji Compton to captain Saints |
| Benji Compton has been named as Club Captain for the Scunthorpe Saints. 21-year old Compton, who hails from West Yorkshire, will lead the Saints in the Conference League whilst also doubling-up with Scunthorpe’s other side, the Henderson Insurance Scorpions, in the Premier League. |

26.02.08: Saints kickoff against Boston |
| The Scunthorpe Saints kick off their season at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Easter Monday (24th March, 3pm) when they face their Lincolnshire rivals, the Boston Barracudas, in Conference League action. The meeting means Scunthorpe speedway fans will have a double dose of action over the Easter weekend to kick-off the new season after nearly five months without action. The Premier League Scorpions open their own home campaign three days earlier, on Good Friday (21st March, 5pm), when the Sheffield Tigers visit. |
