This Friday, at 7.30pm, and for one night only, league speedway racing can be sampled for free at the Eddie Wright Raceway. The meeting sees the Scunthorpe Saints face the Sittingbourne Crusaders and victory could take the Saints back to the top of the Conference League. The meeting, sponsored by the Scunthorpe Telegraph, will showcase speedway and hopefully attract fans back to watch the Premier League Scorpions side in action.

This evening the counties two speedway teams re-new their rivalry at King’s Lynn’s Norfolk Arena (start time 7pm). The Saints have drawn Boston in the semi-finals of the Conference League Knockout Cup whilst Plymouth will face Rye House in the other tie. No dates have been set for the ties but it seems likely that the Saints home leg will be in September.
In another fixture amendment the Conference League Fours event that was due to take place at Plymouth in Saturday 16th August will now not go ahead on that date. It will take place later in the season at a different venue.

The Scunthorpe Saints have parted company with Benji Compton and Sam Martin from their Conference League squad and Team Manager Malcolm Vasey is on the lookout for replacements for the side. 02.06.08: Home meeting v Sittingbourne moved to 1st August
The Scunthorpe Scorpions fixture at home to the Sheffield Tigers has been moved from Friday 1st August to Friday 15th August whilst the Saints fixture with Sittingbourne Crusaders which was set to be part of a Friday night double-header with King’s Lynn on Friday 11th July will slot into the blank date on 1st August. The change has been made to ensure continuity of meetings and, for the time being at least, take away the need for a double-header meeting on a Friday night. All meetings will start at the usual time of 7.30pm
