08.02.12: King of the Saints
SCUNTHORPE SAINTS have pulled off a major coup by landing the signature of former Premier League heat-leader Jason King as the team’s No.1 for the opening part of the season.

26-year-old King started his speedway career at Peterborough as a 15-year-old in the year 2000. He has ridden for Premier League Newcastle for the last four seasons, pushing his average up to 7.82 during the 2008 season.

However, his 2011 season was blighted by a troublesome knee injury and he made just a handful of appearances for the Diamonds.

08.02.12: Weekend speedway cancelled
Sadly the weather has put paid to any chances of speedway action at Scunthorpe this weekend. Frost is now deep into the track and with more snow and frost forecast there is no chance of the track being fit this weekend.

This means Saturday's training track session with Wayne Carter plus the open practice on the main track on Sunday have had to be cancelled.

Every effort will be made to get the track fit for next week's amateur meeting (18th) and the following day's practice.
