21.03.12: Howe relishing battle for top spot |
SCUNTHORPE skipper David Howe reckons that Josh Auty will keep him on his toes in 2012 – but is out to retain the No. 1 race jacket at the Eddie Wright Raceway. Howe, racing in his fourth successive season for the Henderson Insurance Scorpions, said: “I really hope that Josh will push me on.
“In 2009 and 2010, I had Magnus Karlsson challenging me for the top spot. But last season, I didn’t have that. I knew whatever I scored, I would still stay as No. 1. I hope that, this season, there will be some healthy competition between Josh and myself. As long as it’s approached in the right spirit, that’s absolutely fine. |
