29.07.09: Scorpions back at the EWR
Friday night sees the Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions back in action at the Eddie Wright Raceway after a two week break (due to the weather and a trip to Edinburgh) to take on the Redcar Bears in the first leg of their Knockout Cup Quarter-final. The Scorpions go into the match hoping they can make it through to their second semi-final of the summer where they would face the King’s Lynn Stars. The meeting, which starts at 7.30pm, see the home debut of Ritchie Hawkins who replaced Adam Allott in the line-up a fortnight ago whilst Magnus Karlsson will be in action at the Eddie Wright Raceway for the first time since the Bears visit in the league on the 19th June. 29.07.09: Sarjeant back to face Islanders
15-year old James Sarjeant returns to the Jotun Paints Scunthorpe Saints National League line-up tonight as the side make the long trip to take on the Isle of Wight Islanders before facing King’s Lynn in the second leg of the Knockout Cup Quarter-final at the Norfolk Arena on Friday night. He has been out of the side since breaking his wrist nearly six weeks ago but will return to the number three race jacket to race alongside Richard Franklin. Saints News icon

27.07.09: Youngsters excel in British Championship
Jotun Paints Scunthorpe Saints riders Ashley Morris and Kyle Howarth filled the top two places in the fourth round of the British Under-15 Championship round at Buxton on Saturday to close the gap on series leader Josh Dingle whilst 10-year old Scunthorpe Scorpions’ mascot Reece Downes, the youngest rider in the 250cc class, won the round and afterwards dedicated his victory to Kenny Smith. 26.07.09: Scorpions celebrate away point
The Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions produced another battling display yesterday as they claimed a league point from their trip to Glasgow. The meeting seemed to be edging away from them but two 4-2 heat advantages in the final two races brought the deficit to within six points to ensure they received some reward for their efforts. Leading the Scorpions’ scoring was Magnus Karlsson who scored 13 points whilst Carl Wilkinson also reached double figures with 11. Scorpions Reports icon
