| The results from round 7 of the Grand Prix Fantasy League have kindly been supplied by Leigh Cross and are listed below. The competition has been run to raise funds for the Saints' riders and the five leagues are currently led by Hellen Fairbanks (League One), Freddie Belton (League Two), Mike Carter (League Three), Patricia Hubbard (League Four) and Andy Skelton (League Five). With four Grand Prix left and riders capable of scoring 24 points in a round there is everything to play for. |  |

15.08.10: Scorpions so close in Fours |

| The Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions were within one point of winning their semi-final in the Premier League Fours at Peterborough yesterday but still lost out on a place in the final on ‘countback’ to the Edinburgh Monarchs. The two sides were tied on 14 points, just one behind Somerset, and both had provided two race winners in the eight-heat semi-final but the Scottish side’s four second places were two more than the Scorpions had achieved. Edinburgh went on to finish runners-up to Birmingham in the final whilst Somerset pipped Sheffield for third place. |  |

13.08.10: Reece bags Island podium place |

| Scunthorpe Scorpions’ mascot Reece Downes travelled down to the Isle of Wight this week to compete in the fourth round of the British Under-15 Championship and came away with his second podium finish of the season, claiming third place in the 250cc class. Despite the big banked Isle of Wight track being the longest in the country Reece’s father, Aidan, felt it was his best performance of the season. |  |

11.08.10: Scorpions looking four glory |

| After a fortnight without a meeting the Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions are back on track on Sunday in the Premier League Fours at Peterborough (15th August, start time 2.15pm). They take on Edinburgh, Rye House and Somerset in group Two with the top two sides advancing to the final which will be run the same afternoon. Group One sees Berwick, Birmingham, Newcastle and Sheffield competing for the other two places in the final and Promoter Rob Godfrey believes his side have a real chance of success. | |
