29.07.12: The future is bright
Thirty riders, aged between nine and sixteen, competed over 37 races in little more than two hours at Scunthorpe’s Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday afternoon (3pm). It was the penultimate round of the British Youth Championship and just showed everyone present that there really are some quality young riders to come through the system in the next few years. One rider who is already to mix it in the professional ranks is 16-year old Adam Ellis who produced a impressive display to win the 500cc class. He led home Nathan Greaves, Tyler Govier and Scunthorpe Saints’ Danny Phillips in the final whilst Kelsey Dugard won the 250cc class and Kyle Bickley won the 125cc support class. Scorpions News icon

28.07.12: Nielsen so impressive for Saints
JOTUN PAINTS Scunthorpe Saints staged a remarkable comeback to claim a league point at King’s Lynn last night (Friday). The Saints were 16-32 in arrears after Heat 8, but inspired by two successful tactical rides, outscored the home team by 13 points in the remaining seven races.

Scunthorpe asset Stefan Nielsen proved to be a perfect guest for the Saints in place of broken leg victim Steve Worrall. Nielsen, part of the 2011 Saints’ championship-winning side and on loan to Mildenhall in 2012, scored a brilliant 21-point maximum.
