08.08.12: Thomas & Josh to represent Scorpion in PL Pairs
THOMAS JORGENSEN and Josh Auty will represent the Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions in the Premier League Pairs at Somerset on Friday, August 24th; a meeting being held on the eve of the British Grand Prix at Cardiff.

Clubs select two of their top three eligible riders. In the case of the Scorpions, recent signing Nick Morris is ineligible, since he had not rode in enough meetings for Scunthorpe by the cut-off date. Therefore, the three riders for the Scorpions management to select from are: David Howe, Josh Auty and Thomas Jorgensen.

08.08.12: Greenwood impresses on Island
17-YEAR OLD Oliver Greenwood put in another fine performance for the Jotun Paints Scunthorpe Saints last night at the Isle Of Wight (Tuesday), but it was not enough to save the Saints from a 37-55 defeat.

With no less than four of the young Saints side (including Greenwood) making their debut at the largest track in British Speedway, it was too much to ask for the Saints to repeat their last-gasp victory at Buxton two days earlier.

06.08.12: Grandstand finish clinches Saints away win
JOTUN PAINTS Scunthorpe Saints snatched a dramatic 46-43 away win at Buxton yesterday afternoon (Sunday), after taking three 5-1s in the final three races. It is their first away win of the season.

Gary Irving and guest Ashley Morris scored 5-1s in Heats 13 & 15, but the real clincher for the Saints was a fine 5-1 by Oliver Greenwood and Tommy Fenwick in Heat 14 (both making their first visit to the track), who kept their heads in a race where both Buxton Hitmen riders took a tumble.

01.08.12: Howe and Birks set to return
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions are due to field a full team of seven of their own riders for the first time since April 14th, when the Workington Comets visit the Eddie Wright Raceway on Friday evening (7.30pm).

No.1 David Howe has been in the wars since mid-April, dislocating a shoulder in a grasstrack accident at Worcester, and then, shortly after a brief return to the Scorpions’ side in early June, suffering shoulder (the opposite arm) and rib injuries in a crash in the World Longtrack Team Cup.
