09.10.12: Provisional dates for play-off final
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions have agreed provisional dates for the Premier League Play-Off final with the Somerset Rebels, should both teams progress to the final.

The provisional date for the first leg is Friday, October 26th at 7.30pm at Somerset’s Oak Tree Arena, while the second and concluding leg is pencilled in at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday, October 28th at 4pm.

07.10.12: Scorpions close in on play-off final after resounding win
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions took a huge step towards the Premier League play-off final with a resounding 62-28 win over the Workington Comets at the Eddie Wright Raceway yesterday evening (Sunday). It represents the Scorpions’ biggest win of the season.

The Scorpions have completed their play-off group fixtures on seven match points and a very good race points difference (+42), which could come in crucial in the case of a tie on match points.

06.10.12: Scorpions looking to bounce back in key encounter
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions are aiming to bounce straight back from a 39-50 defeat Premier at Workington last night (Saturday) in the Premier League Play-Offs, by registering a win over the Comets in a hugely important return clash at the Eddie Wright Raceway this evening (Sunday, 6pm).

Although it’s not totally clear cut, because there are another two matches in the group (Workington v Edinburgh on October 13th and Edinburgh v Workington on October 19th), the task for the Scorpions today is simple: score all three league points (i.e. a win of 7 points or more) and also tot up as many race points as possible.

05.10.12: Precious point for depleted Scorpions
HEAVILY DEPLETED Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions produced a real backs-against-the-wall performance to grab a point in their Premier League Play-Off match at Edinburgh’s Armadale stadium last night (Friday). The Scorpions eventually lost 42-48, having led 40-38 with two heats to go.

The Scorpions were without the riders first, second, third and fourth in their averages, and brought in Sam Masters, Kevin Doolan and Joe Haines as guests.

05.10.12: Double blow for Scorpions
HENDERSON INSURANCE SCUNTHORPE SCORPIONS have been hit by the double blow that both Josh Auty and Nick Morris will miss tonight’s (Friday) Premier League play-off meeting at Edinburgh.

Both Auty and Morris crashed during the televised Swindon v Birmingham Elite League play-off meeting last night (Thursday), and have been left battered and bruised.
