13.10.12: Play-Off Update: Scorpions still on course
HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions are still on course for the Premier League Play-Off Final, after last night’s (Saturday) group match between the Workington Comets and the Edinburgh Monarchs resulted in a 46-44 home win for the Comets.

It puts an end to Edinburgh’s play-off hopes, while Workington need to win at Edinburgh next Friday (October 19th) in the final group match, to pip the Scorpions to top spot in the group.

HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions will be represented by two riders in the re-staging of the prestigious Premier League Riders’ Championship at Sheffield on Sunday (October 14th, 1pm).

Josh Auty qualifies as the club’s No 1. Meanwhile, there are three wildcard spots available to the best three No 2 riders across the Premier League, and Nick Morris has taken one of these.

10.10.12: Jones wins 2012 Summer Championship
The Isle of Wight’s Steve Jones won the Open Class of the fifth Scunthorpe Summer Championship on Sunday after finishing fourth in qualifying. He went on to win the ‘B Final’ before producing a great pass of former Premier League rider Mitchell Davey in the ‘A’ Final to claim his third round victory. Earlier Davey’s fellow Australian Damien Koppe had looked the favourite after winning all of his qualifying rides. However, after making the gate he picked up some unwanted grip and found himself back in third place. He managed to overhaul Davey but Jones had too much of a lead. Amateur Meetings icon
